Kathy Reiche – Founding Board Member
Kathy Reiche was instrumental in the early development of our organization and served as a founding board member during its first year. Her dedication, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to helping others helped shape the foundation upon which our mission continues today.
Kathy’s life has been marked by service to others. She proudly served in the United States Army before embarking on a distinguished career in education. With 20 years of service to the education system, she taught mathematics, including many years at Rio Norte Junior High School, where she influenced the lives of countless students through her patience, encouragement, and unwavering belief in their potential.
Shortly before retiring from teaching, Kathy earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology. Although she never pursued a professional role in the field, obtaining the degree reflected her lifelong love of learning, personal growth, and desire to better understand and serve others.
For many years, Kathy volunteered her time supporting adolescents and families facing substance use and mental health challenges. Her compassion, empathy, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life made her a trusted mentor, advocate, and source of encouragement within the community. Having personally experienced the impact addiction can have on families, she brought a depth of understanding and compassion that helped others find hope, healing, and support during some of life’s most difficult moments.
Kathy and her husband have been married for many years and raised three children together, later enjoying the blessing of grandchildren. Her faith, kindness, humility, resilience, and servant-hearted spirit have touched countless lives and continue to inspire those who know her.
Though no longer serving on the board, Kathy remains a cherished part of our organization’s history. Her early leadership, guidance, and belief in our mission helped lay the foundation for the work we continue today. We are deeply grateful for her contributions and honored to recognize her lasting impact on our organization and the community we serve.
